A €1bn Dutch motorway project has reached financial close.

The SS A1/A6 Daiemen-Muiderberg – Almere Havendreef project is to be financed using a combination of debt and equity instruments.

Crédit Agricole has acted as security, facility and intercreditor agent. Other banks involved include Bank of Tokyo Mitsubishi, Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, Norddeutsche Landesbank, KfW, Landesbank Baden-Württemberg, Helaba, UniCredit and the European Investment Bank (EIB).

The borrower is SAAOne, a consortium composed of Hochtief PPP Solutions, VolkerInfra, Boskalis BV and the Dutch Infrastructure Fund. SAAone was advised by White & Case.

White & Case partner Caroline Miller Smith says: “We are pleased to have supported the sponsors on this very significant Dutch infrastructure project, which demonstrates the resilience in a difficult market of long term project finance lending for well-structured deals involving key market participants.”
