Banco Espirito Santo (BES) has appointed Christopher Brown as credit analyst in the structured trade finance department, based in London. He reports to David Wightman.

He moves from an eight-year stint at VTB Bank Europe as manager in the structured finance department, where he worked in a similar role, with a particular focus on pre-export lending to Russian and CIS corporate borrowers in all business areas, excluding oil.

In his new role, he will be conducting due diligence procedures as well as monitoring the bank’s borrowers in the structured trade finance business lines, across all sectors. He will also be working on documentation issues relating to syndicated and bilateral facilities.

Brown’s career before joining VTB saw him working for in a variety of credit and marketing roles at Norinchukin Bank, Italian International Bank and the Development Bank of Singapore.
