The Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) has officially inaugurated a representative office in Amman, Jordan.

The new office will strengthen JBIC’s capacity to collect information, communicate with other agencies and support project formulation in the areas of plant exports, direct investment and ODA loan-financed projects in Jordan and Iraq.

The office will facilitate the implementation of reconstruction projects in Iraq financed by up to US$3.5bn of ODA loans from the Japanese government.

The opening of this office will enable JBIC to support economic and social development in Jordan and Iraq and to promote the business development of Japanese firms in the region.
