Singapore-based alternative lender ApexPeak has signed a US$200,000 supply chain finance facility with fashion label m)phosis.

The facility was made available within a month, and will help the retailer to free up working capital and sustain its growth during 2015.

“ApexPeak has made a concerted attempt to develop a payables / supply chain finance product that captures the SME, mid-size and growth-stage business market, [and] has concluded transaction sizes with larger growth stage businesses in excess of US$20mn mark,” an ApexPeak spokesperson tells GTR.

ApexPeak expects alternative finance facilities to experience growing demand in the region: “Mid-market and SME payables and supply chain finance is not as well utilised in emerging markets. The concept is well understood, but it has not been accessed by mainstream businesses, hence our view that over time, average facility sizes will grow as this funding solution becomes better understood and more widely used.”
