Surecomp, a leading provider of trade finance, factoring and reconciliation solutions for the banking and financial market, has announced that Santiago, Chile-based HNS Banco has licensed Bancomext.

Established in 1991, Santiago-based HNS Banco is one of Chile’s foremost boutique banks. Dedicated to the SME (small and medium enterprise) market, HNS offers a comprehensive portfolio of products and services tailored to this profitable and rapidly growing niche market.

The licensing of BanComex is, claims Surecomp, a natural expansion of the bank’s product and services portfolio, which already include current accounts, investment options, international factoring and leasing. With the addition of Bancomext, HNS Banco will now offer letters of credits, collections and trade finance loans to the market.

The implementation of Bancomext at HNS Banco will be will be handled by Surecomp’s local support team in Santiago.

Speaking immediately after signing the licensing agreement HNS Banco’s commercial division manager, Oscar Cerda, commented: “Selecting the Bancomext trade finance solution was as much about selecting Surecomp as the vendor. We actively sought a solution that could meet both our short and long-term strategy but equally we required a vendor with an understanding and in-sight into the trade finance market. With Surecomp and BanComex we are confident that we have found the perfect partner.”

Surecomp vice-president, business development, Vladimir Ramirez added: “This is the start of a new era for Surecomp in Latin America. Our arrival in the region is the result of solid and long term planning. Surecomp’s combined reputation and solutions provide key long-term benefits to the regions banking and financial institutions.”
