Newly launched US boutique CBC Trade Finance has hired Robert Denhert to a senior vice-president role.

Denhert will be responsible for developing the firm in the west coast region of the US by targeting small and medium-sized importers and their Asia-based exporting partners.

Denhert joins CBC Trade Finance from the managing director position at the US’s Pacific Asset Funding where he established and lead Pacific LifeCorp’s trade finance subsidiary.

With more than two decades’ experience, Denhert has also spent time in a senior vice-president role at GE Capital Commercial Finance.

“Bob’s deep understanding of the trade finance solutions that importers and exporters need to ensure that retail shelves are stocked is a tremendous asset to CBC Trade Finance,” says Andrew Tananbaum, chief executive officer of CBC and CBC Trade Finance.

“Additionally, Bob has extensive experience working with non-exchange traded commodities, such as fisheries and aquaculture, forest products and chemical fertilisers, which enable us to target new markets beyond furniture, textile and apparel industries,” Tananbaum adds.

CBC Trade Finance launched in the US in November with a focus on facilitating trade between the US and Asia, especially China.
