Chadbourne & Parke has strengthened its project finance team in London with the addition of international partner Julien Bocobza.

Bocobza joins Chadbourne from the project development and finance group of Shearman & Sterling, where he worked as a project finance lawyer, with a particular focus on renewable energy and thermal power. He is the seventh lawyer to join Chadbourne’s London office in the last year.

Speaking to GTR, Bocobza explains the reason for his move: “I have come across Chadbourne several times while working on power projects in Turkey, the Middle East and in Africa, and I know the stellar reputation of the firm’s project finance team. I am very excited by the huge opportunity my move to Chadbourne represents, to me personally, to my career and to my clients.”

“We continue to seek opportunities to add to our project finance capabilities around the world, and Julien brings his deep experience acting for project sponsors and lenders across Africa, the Middle East and Turkey,” says Adrian Mecz, managing partner of the London office. “He fits well with our team and will play an important role in growing our practice throughout the region.”

In addition to his experience working on renewable energy and thermal power projects, Bocobza has advised sponsors, financiers and government agencies on energy and infrastructure projects in a broad range of industries, including the mining, transportation, water and telecommunications industries.

Chadbourne has a long history of working for the energy sector and more than 100 Chadbourne lawyers work on energy-related matters, 60 of them exclusively. It has 12 worldwide offices and has represented clients in energy transactions in more than 80 countries on six continents.
