The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) has announced Kanat Dosmukametov as its new managing director for project activities.

Dosmukametov will be responsible for sourcing finance for large infrastructure projects in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. He will be based in the bank’s Astana office and will report to EDB’s CEO, Igor Finogenov.

Dosmukametov brings with him vast regional trade finance experience. He was most recently managing director at Samruk-Kazyna, a Kazakh joint stock company, but before that, held senior positions at Pana Insurance, the Development Bank of Kazakhstan, Kazexportgarant Export Credit Insurance Corporation, the Investment Fund of Kazakhstan, Alliance Bank, and Temir Bank. He also spent three years as chairman of the Treasury Committee of the Kazakh ministry of finance.
