The Association of Trade and Forfaiting in the Americas (ATFA) has announced that Harpreet Mann is taking over from Brendan Herley as president.

Mann, an underwriting counsel at QBE North America, was previously the association’s secretary. “I have some very big shoes to fill,” she tells GTR.

Herley has been a member of the ATFA board since 2006. He joined Wells Fargo’s International Group in February 2015 after 10 years with Standard Chartered in New York, and serves as a director of risk distribution and loan syndications for the Americas.

Furthermore, Nasrin Nourizadeh, vice-president of business development and marketing at FCIA, is stepping down from her position as ATFA board member after seven years.

Herley made the announcements at last week’s annual ATFA conference in Bermuda, where he also gave an update on the association’s membership numbers. As of mid-April 2017, ATFA counted 64 institutions as members, a drop from 77 at the end of 2016. However, nine new members joined in the past year, including BNP Paribas, Brickell Bank, Clifford Chance, Equinox Global, Gerald Metals, III Corp, Lone Star Capital, Talbot Underwriting and TD Bank.
