Mark Turrell has joined Wyelands Bank as business development director for asset finance, as it launches its newly-created asset finance offering for the renewables sector.

He moves to the bank from Capitas Finance, a specialist asset and structured finance company, where he was an executive director focusing on renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.

In his newly-created role, Turrell will focus on developing the bank’s finance offerings for renewable energy firms.

Turrell has previously held senior roles at Lloyds Bank, where he was a business development director for commercial banking mid-markets, and GE Capital, where he was head of business development, equipment finance.

“I’m looking forward to working with the team to develop our offering and help more renewables firms to trade, grow and create jobs,” says Turrell.

Turrell will be London-based and report to the managing director of asset finance, Jim Higginbotham.

His appointment is part of the bank’s wider strategy to help renewables and manufacturing businesses to trade and grow through asset finance solutions.

Wyelands has also made a number of recent appointments to its working capital solutions team, including, Kevin Sullivan as relationship manager in April, and Kelvin Thomas and Henry Wheeler as regional directors in March.
