Bank of the West has appointed Hamed Farhadi as senior vice-president, head of global trade solutions.

He joins the bank from BNP Paribas, where he was senior marketer and structure in global trade solutions supply chain management since 2006, in Paris. Between 2001 and 2006 he was senior trade manager at BNP Paribas’s trade centre in San Francisco.

Farhadi will be responsible for bringing creative trade solutions, such as innovative supply chain financing structures, to the bank’s clients. He will report to Michael Stead, executive vice-president, head of capital markets.

Speaking of Farhadi’s appointment, Bank of the West’s head of commercial banking Jean-Marc Torre says: “With his extensive experience in trade finance, Hamed Farhadi will play a key role in 2013 and beyond in further expanding our global trade solutions business, which is an important offering for our clients and our bank.”
