Richard Tull has joined HSBC in New York as senior vice-president, HSBC Forfaiting, responsible for development of origination and distribution activities within the Americas.
He joins in June from Orix USA Corporation and brings a wealth of experience in trade and forfaiting business, having previously established a major presence within the Americas via senior management positions within market leading institutions Deutsche Morgan Grenfell/Deutsche Bank AG.
Tull’s appointment is a “significant step toward building a global presence in forfaiting activities within HSBC Group commensurate with our unparalleled branch and client network,” claims Geoff Sharp, managing director – head of forfaiting, Western Hemisphere. “Richard’s proven track-record of successful business origination will support our goals of expanding the business within the western hemisphere and further cement HSBC Forfaiting’s global standing as one of the leaders in forfaiting business worldwide along with our established market leading position throughout Asia Pacific (eastern hemisphere) managed in Singapore.
“In this regard, we are delighted to secure Richard’s experience and business writing skills to build on this momentum which also follows recent appointments within HSBC Forfaiting London operations of David Easton and Damian Austin, formerly of WestLB.”
Tull will report to Sharp and locally to Michael Whalen, head of New York, project and export finance division.
