Tan Kah Chye is to head up global trade for Barclays Corporate, GTR can reveal.

This news follows Tan’s resignation from his role as global head of corporate cash and trade, transaction banking at Standard Chartered.

Presently based in Singapore, Tan is set to move to London to join Barclays.

A high profile figure in the trade world, Tan is also the chair of the ICC commission on banking technique and practice. He was appointed to this position in mid-2010.

Tan joined Standard Chartered in 2005 and has led a number of key initiatives including being closely involved in negotiations with the IFC and the creation of the global trade liquidity programme in the aftermath of the 2009 G-20 talks in London.
