Standard Bank has hired two new directors to its Asian structured trade and commodity finance (STCF) team.

Philip Cui has been appointed as a director for STCF business and opportunities in China. He joined the bank in November and is based in Shanghai. Cui previously worked at BNP Paribas and HSBC, with a focus on the area of commodity structured finance.

Low Pheck Choo, director, joined Standard Merchant Bank Asia in Singapore in November. She covers the Southeast Asia market, focusing mainly on Indonesia. Before joining the bank, Low worked as a director for structured trade finance at Standard Chartered Bank, covering the Southeast Asia market. She has also held positions at HSBC and KBC.

Both Cui and Low will form part of Ong Tee Chong’s structured trade and commodity finance team. Ong joined Standard Bank as Asian head of STCF in July this year.
