Standard Chartered Bank has appointed banking industry veteran George Nast as global head of product management for its transaction banking business.

Nast is a former partner at McKinsey & Company, where he led the management consultancy’s Asia Pacific wholesale banking practice. Working with domestic and foreign financial institutions, he provided strategic advice on transaction, corporate and investment banking as well as capital markets, exchanges and securitisation.

He has also worked with several central banks and regulators in Asia on capital markets development, regulation and policy. Nast’s experience includes time spent in the finance industry in North America, serving clients in Canada, the US and Latin America. Before joining McKinsey, he worked as a financial markets analyst and trader in the open market operations of Canada’s central bank.

Nast has spent nearly a decade living in China and will now be based inSingapore, reporting to Karen Fawcett, group head of transaction banking.
