A new foundation to improve knowledge in credit insurance and surety has been founded in Amsterdam – The Stichting Training & Education in Credit Insurance and Surety (STECIS).

The foundation has been founded with the support of the International Credit Insurance & Surety Association (ICISA) which is headed by Rob Nijhout.

ICISA strongly supports the new foundation and says it feels that STECIS will be of great value to the credit insurance and surety business. A full training schedule has been developed, with help of a survey conducted by ICISA through its members.

ICISA and STECIS will work closely together. While STECIS can make use of the long-lasting experience of ICISA, the association that will celebrate its 80th anniversary next year; interested parties will be trained through the new foundation.

Recommendations of ICISA members have been taken into account while drafting a programme.

Nijhout comments: “I am positive that STECIS will be very useful to ICISA members and other interested parties within our community. With help from credit insurance and surety professionals, STECIS will be able to focus on improving knowledge in credit insurance and surety”.

For 2007, STECIS has organised two seminars. The kick- off will take place on July 25-26 and will focus on credit insurance. The main topics which will be ‘Emerging markets buyer underwriting’, “Claims handling”, “PML “and “Political Risk “This seminar will be held in the Netherlands.

The second seminar will focus on surety. This will also take place in the Netherlands and is planned for the last quarter of 2007.
