Société Générale names new head of development and structured export finance

Société Générale has appointed Zvi Wohlgemuth as global head of development and structured export finance.

In the new role, Wohlgemuth will be responsible for the development of Société Générale’s financing and advisory solutions for importers and exporters, the bank says.

He will also look to facilitate investments across sustainable development and the energy transition, as well as maintain partnerships with clients, export credit agencies and public institutions.

Wohlgemuth will bring to the position his expertise in structured finance, energy and asset-based transactions and loan syndication, which will be “instrumental in building the group’s ambitions in development and structured export finance”, Société Générale says.

In addition to the new role, Wohlgemuth will continue in his current role as UK head of global banking and advisory, which he secured in March 2022.

Wohlgemuth reports to Ilya Polyakov, deputy head of global banking and advisory.

He replaces Cécile Camilli in the role, who has been appointed global co-head of distribution and credit solutions alongside Laurent Mitaty.

Wohlgemuth joined Société Générale in 2007, initially working on project finance and Middle East loan distribution.

In 2015, he was named head of project, asset financing and loan syndication for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

He has also been an associate director with RBS, working in project finance, aviation and shipping capital markets.

Last year, Société Générale appointed Alexis Christodoulou as its new global head of trade and sustainable commodity finance.
