Technology provider SmartStream is opening its second African office in Nairobi.

Led by senior vice-president for Middle East, Turkey, South Asia and Africa Pritesh Kotecha, the Kenyan office will add to the capabilities of SmartStream’s Johannesburg presence, set up in April 2013.

“The decision to open an office in Nairobi is demonstrative of SmartStream’s growing client base in Africa and the increased interest we are seeing from banks within the East African Community (EAC). The opening of this office, as well as the recent opening of an office in Riyadh, serves to reinforce SmartStream’s continued commitment to support its customers in Africa and the Middle East,” says Kotecha.

SmartStream explains that the growth of the banked population on the continent has led to increased demand for its services.
