Scor names chief underwriting officer

Reinsurer Scor has promoted Henry Mummé-Young to chief underwriting officer for Scor UK and active underwriter for the insurer’s Scor Syndicate 2015.

In the new role, Mummé-Young reports to Scor UK chief executive Chris Beazley. He first joined Scor in 2014, and was most recently its global line head for political and credit risks for syndicate and company markets. He previously worked as an underwriter at Ace and Liberty.

In his new role, Scor says Mummé-Young will oversee the underwriting strategy and performance of the company’s UK operations and its Lloyd’s syndicate.

The syndicate underwrites property and specialty classes, including political and credit risks, as well as terrorism and political violence.

Beazley says the company is “delighted to appoint Henry to this role”, adding: “I have no doubt his broad skillset and experience will further strengthen our underwriting leadership as we continue to build Scor’s specialty insurance presence in the London market.”

Mummé-Young replaces Marie Biggas, who has been promoted to chief underwriting officer for Scor Global Business Solutions and facultative reinsurance.
