Italian export credit agency Sace has appointed Dave Chalila as head of its African business.

He will be based in Johannesburg, South Africa, and will have overall responsibility for the company’s operations in Sub-Saharan Africa, including business development and client relationships. He will also oversee the activities of Sace’s operational branch in Nairobi, Kenya.

Chalila joins Sace from the International Finance Corporation (IFC), where he was responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of trade and supply chain finance business with banks and corporate entities across various industrial sectors in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Chalila has strong international banking experience, having previously held a number of senior positions within corporate and investment banking, including client relationship management, trade finance, risk management and product development.
