Dario Liguti is set to join Sace as its new chief underwriting and business innovation officer. He will take up the position on March 15.

Liguti joins the Italian export credit agency (ECA) after 11 years at GE Capital. At GE he was responsible for project financing activities, corporate strategy and business development, corporate finance and investment banking, eventually serving as global head of government and export finance, managing the company’s relations with ECAs and international financial institutions. He previously worked at Council of Europe Development Bank and with the European Commission. His career has seen him working mostly in France, Switzerland, Russia, the UK and the US.

He succeeds Alessandra Ricci, who was appointed CEO of Simest last October.

“We are pleased to welcome Dario to our team,” says Sace CEO, Alessandro Decio. “His experience abroad, his knowledge of the insurance financial needs of large international organisations and his enthusiasm will enhance our team, which has contributed significantly to the achievement of important business goals.”

Liguti will be managing activities related to the underwriting process, developing new products and leading the company innovation and digitisation programme.
