Bree Miechel has been named a partner in Reed Smith’s Singapore office, covering construction and projects.

She joins the law firm’s energy and natural resources group from Simmons & Simmons, where she was the head of construction for Southeast Asia.

Miechel’s areas of focus are advising sponsors, lenders, government authorities and contractors on conventional and renewable power, energy efficiency, water and waste, oil and gas, transport and social infrastructure projects. She is also co-chair of the British Chamber of Commerce’s energy and utility group.

She reports to the chair of the Reed Smith energy and natural resources group, Rajakt Samant, who says: “According to government figures, the urban population in Southeast Asia is expected to increase from 36% currently to 45% by 2030, requiring new infrastructure in transport, utilities, healthcare and housing to meet the growing demand. Bree is a pivotal addition to our team and to servicing our clients’ projects and transactional construction needs in this region.”
