Rabobank has appointed Jasper van Schaik as its new global head of trade and commodity finance (TCF), replacing Diane Boogaard, who moves elsewhere in the bank.

Van Schaik joined Rabobank in 2007 as head of trade and commodity finance for agricultural commodities, Europe. He previously held senior roles at Fortis Bank in Amsterdam, where he was head of agricultural trade and commodity finance for seven years, and at MeesPierson, the private Dutch lender.

He reports directly to Boogaard, who is appointed global head of wholesale products at Rabobank. Before joining the bank in 2006, Boogaard worked at Fortis for more than two decades, becoming global head of trade and commodity finance.

She began her career at MeesPierson, and has successfully maintained various merchant banking roles with a focus on commodity finance throughout her career. In the new role, Boogard will be responsible for all specialised wholesale activities within the bank. She will report to executive board member and former global head of professional products at Rabobank, Jan Nieuwenhuizen.
