Specialist risk and intelligence advisory Pangea-Risk has hired Thibaut van de Werve to manage client relationships, as geopolitical volatility fuels demand for its services.

Focused on Africa and the Middle East, the company provides intelligence and forecasting services to corporate clients, including banks. It was launched at the end of 2020.

Van de Werwe will be based between the UK and Europe. He joins from Asoko Insight, a corporate data platform for Africa, where he was most recently director of business development.

Robert Besseling, Pangea-Risk’s CEO, says van de Werve “has demonstrated exceptional expertise in emerging market intelligence needs, as well as sound experience working in and with Africa, and a capacity to better address the needs of Pangea-Risk’s growing and diverse client set”.

The company “has been experiencing exceptional growth during the pandemic as businesses and financial services providers have faced unprecedented volatility and uncertainty across emerging markets”, he adds.
