Greg Havermahl has been appointed head of trade and working capital solutions for Rand Merchant Bank (RMB).

Havermahl was previously head of structured trade and commodity finance at the bank. In his new role, he will be responsible for all structured and vanilla trade finance, as well as secured and unsecured short-term financing to corporates and financial institutions.

The products that fall within his remit include structured commodity finance, structured trade, vanilla trade, risk participations, metal loans, money markets, overdrafts, common fund for commodities (CFC), and supply chain finance.

A spokesperson for RMB tells GTR: “Some of the products such as trade and general banking facilities were previously offered to clients from within the global transactional solutions area in First National Bank. By combining all working capital solutions under Greg, RMB will be able to offer a more holistic working capital solution to clients.”

Havermahl will report to André Ribbens (head of commodities) and Louis Jordaan (co-head of treasury solutions).
