The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (Cabei) has elected Federico Carrillo Zrcher, Costa Rica’s finance minister, for a five-year term at the helm of the bank.
Carillo had previously worked at Lehman Brothers, Salomon Brothers and Costa Rica’s stock exchange.
Cabei, a 45-year-old institution, was founded by Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Taiwan, Argentina, Colombia and Spain. The bank’s assets amount to US$3.5bn
