Mark Emmerson has been named head of UK global trade and receivables finance at HSBC.

Emmerson has worked at the bank for more than 25 years and was most recently global head of export for growth, in the global trade and receivables finance (GTRF) team.

Despite only assuming that role in May of this year, a HSBC spokesperson tells GTR that it was always intended that he take on further responsibilities and that “export for growth was setup as a special project”. The bank says that Emmerson will continue to support the export for growth programme.

His new role will be based in London and he will be charged with finding additional ways to support UK businesses that wish to grow their overseas business.
