Citi has appointed Andrea Vanara as Asia Pacific head of its treasury advisory group.

Reporting to Ron Chakravarti, global head of the treasury advisory group, he will lead the group in the region, advising multinational clients on centralisation structures, treasury diagnostics and benchmarking, working capital optimisation, and industry best practices.

He joins Citi from FCA Group (formerly Fiat Group), where he led risk management at FCA Bank and held senior roles in group corporate finance and regional treasury operations.

His experience also includes a research role in the economy and finance department at the University of Torino, Italy.

“Andrea’s experience and regional leadership of our Treasury Advisory Group will be instrumental in strengthening how we help clients adapt their treasury and working capital operating models to current trends and shifting market demands,” says Amol Gupte, region head for treasury and trade solutions, Citi Asia Pacific.

The bank has also appointed Anahita Shah as associate advisor, reporting to Vanara. She returns to Citi from Flipkart Limited, where she was finance manager for treasury and controllership in Singapore.

She previously worked at Citi India, where she was involved in trade finance, risk distribution, and cash management and trade sales across the metals, chemicals, healthcare, and consumer goods industries.

Both Vanara and Shah are based in Singapore.

Vanara’s team also includes Li Yan, who is based in Beijing and leads advisory for clients in the Greater China market, and Mark Sutton, who is based in Singapore and leads advisory in technology and operational process efficiency.
