The Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (Miga) has appointed Edith Quintrell as director of guarantees.

Quintrell is taking over from Philippe Valahu, who was the acting director of guarantees for two years before leaving Miga to join Depfa Bank in London as managing director, structured and export finance.

Before joining Miga, Quintrell worked for the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (Opic) where she had been based since 1991. Her last position at Opic was as vice president for insurance, and had also held the positions of director of technical operations and regional manager. She has also been very active in the Berne Union.

In her new role, she will be developing Miga’s operations in infrastructure, post-conflict countries, high-risk and low-income frontier markets, south-south investment and Africa.
