Metals trader Gerald Group has named Alexandre Dietz as its new head of trade and structured finance, based in Switzerland.

Dietz, who started in October, now leads Gerald’s finance unit and is responsible for global financing initiatives and activities.

He joins Gerald after a seven-year stint at HSBC where, in his most recent post, he served as head of global trade and receivables finance and commodities structured finance for Switzerland, based in Zurich.

Dietz brings nearly 20 years of commodity trade finance experience to the role, having also held senior posts at a clutch of soft commodities and energy traders, including Sodrugestvo, Socar Trading and Litasco.

Earlier on his career, he worked in trade and structured finance at French lender Natixis, covering the oil sector.

Elsewhere, the metals trader has also appointed Jack Hosking to the newly created role of deputy CFO, based in New York, promoting him from vice-president and head of liquidity management.

During his nine years at the global trading house, Hosking also previously served as treasury manager.

Both Dietz and Hosking report to group CFO, Patricia Nikolopoulos.
