Mark Emmerson has joined Commerzbank as managing director, head of trade finance and cash management UK, having left a 29-year career at HSBC last year.

Based at Commerzbank’s London office, Emmerson now leads trade finance, cash management business development and oversees financial crime compliance in transactional banking.

In July 2017, Emmerson waved goodbye to a over quarter century in global trade finance at HSBC, most recently as head of global trade and receivables finance for the UK. He has since worked as an international trade finance consultant.

At HSBC, the trade finance veteran managed several corporate, commercial and operational teams from Hong Kong for 15 years, before moving to Jakarta to become head of corporate banking, Indonesia in 2007. He moved back to the UK in 2011, where he held various senior trade finance roles before leaving the bank.
