HSBC has appointed Ricardo Elias as regional head of receivables finance for Asia Pacific in its global trade and receivables finance (GTRF) department.

Elias will move to the bank’s Hong Kong office from London on August 10, and will report to Simon Constantinides, HSBC’s regional head of GTRF for Asia Pacific.

Elias will be responsible for the business development, commercial expansion and the operational and risk management activities across HSBC’s priority markets in Asia.

He will replace Peter Tandy, who according to HSBC, will return to the bank’s UK GTRF department in a senior position.

Elias joined HSBC in late 2009 as head of receivables finance for Mexico. Before that, he held various positions in global banking, sales management and product areas such as factoring, ABL and leasing with a number of major institutions.
