HSBC has promoted Steve Box to head of trade, receivables and equipment finance for the UK.

Box was previously HSBC’s managing director for invoice finance, UK.

He has been in the commercial finance industry at HSBC for more than 30 years, and was chairman of the UK’s Asset Based Finance Association during 2010. He has overseen the introduction of HSBC’s new product ranges, such as asset-based lending and supply chain finance for the bank’s invoice finance in the UK.

Box has recently become a member of HSBC’s UK commercial executive committee and the global trade and receivables management committee.

In a separate move Ian Tandy, has taken on a new role as regional commercial director for the South and East of the UK. Within his new role Tandy will manage HSBC’s regional commercial banking operations in this region, supporting businesses with a turnover between £2mn ($3.1mn) and £30mn.

With over 20 years of experience in the trade finance industry, Tandy will also oversee HSBC’s strategic planning and development and business performance for the region.

He was previously head of UK trade.
