HSBC has appointed George Francis as Europe head of business management in the bank’s global trade and receivables finance (GTRF) business.

In this newly-created position, Francis will play a leading role in shaping and executing GTRF EU27 region-wide strategies, client-centricity and connectivity across the group, according to an HSBC spokesperson.

He will report to Andrew Betts, regional head of GTRF Europe and global head of commodities at HSBC.

Francis moves to London from Dubai, where he was HSBC’s regional head of business management, trade and receivables finance for Mena and Turkey.

Before joining the bank in 2014, he was a manager in the group strategy department of Emirates NBD. He has previously held consultancy and analyst roles at PwC and First National Bank Lebanon.
