Stuart Nivison has been appointed as HSBC’s new head of trade services and supply chain for Europe.

He will be based in London, and will be moving from his previous role as head of trade services for HSBC in Hong Kong.

Commenting on his new appointment, Nivison says: “My main objective is to position HSBC as the leading international trade bank in Europe. This will involve leveraging our unique global network and international expertise both to drive our expansion in Europe and to help our European customers as they expand overseas. This will require an increased focus on trade, one of HSBC’s core competencies.”

Nivison joined HSBC in 1989 as part of the international staff and has worked in a number of lending and trade management positions in Europe, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East.
