Matthias Schemuth has joined DLA Piper as a partner in its finance and projects group in Hong Kong.

He joins the firm from Ashurst, where he spent nine years as a partner, before which he was a partner at White & Case.

With two decades of experience working with sponsors, developers, commercial banks, multilateral lending agencies and export credit agencies, he will be working to expand DLA Piper’s business in the export finance field, particularly with regard transactions in the energy and extractive sectors.

He will also be focusing on international banking, commodity and trade structured finance and asset finance, and leasing in emerging markets.
