Deutsche Bank has named Evan Goldstein as global head of renminbi (Rmb) services, a newly-created position at the bank.

Goldstein joins from Standard Chartered, where he was managing director, head of product management for financial institutions within the bank’s Asia transaction banking division. He previously worked at JP Morgan.

Goldstein will be responsible for managing the bank’s Rmb-related activities globally, and will be based in Hong Kong. He will report to Michael Ormaechea co-head of corporate banking and securities for Asia Pacific and Lisa Robins, Asia Pacific head of global transaction banking.

Robins comments on the hire: “Evan’s broad banking experience is a tremendous asset to our Rmb business, especially as the internationalisation of the Rmb continues to gain momentum and the currency becomes increasingly significant in global trade and cross-border investments.”
