Pironneau Morris comes to the company after three years spent at Standard Bank’s London offices where she was in charge of coverage for oil and gas markets.

Before joining Standard Bank, Pironneau Morris was at Natixis for more than a decade working on structured commodity finance and reserve-base lending transactions across Asia and the CIS.

Cofarco has been running for two years now and described the hire as “a landmark appointment”.

Pironneau Morris’ new boss Blanchi elaborates on the hire to GTR: “Through her work experience, Laure has developed a strong oil and gas expertise form upstream to midstream to downstream business, mainly in emerging markets and over the last six years, she had concentrated on the oil and gas sector in Africa.

“In her new role at Cofarco, she will be responsible for broadening our customer base in the energy markets at large, meaning independent oil and gas producers, merchants [and] also commodity banks.”

“This move fits with the company’s commitment to build a leading franchise as finance and risk solution providers to the commodities markets,” the firm adds in a statement.
