Coface has appointed Yoshihiro Suchi as country manager of Coface in Japan, effective from September 28, 2015.

Based in Tokyo, he will oversee the operations of Coface’s trade credit insurance and services activities in Japan.

He replaces Bruno Tavernier, who led Coface Japan over the past four years.

Suchi has over 20 years of experience in the non-life insurance industry, as well as sales management, partnerships with financial institutions and agencies management.

He joins Coface from AIU General Insurance in Tokyo, where he was the general manager of the specialty lines department, leading a team of 30 sales specialists. In that role he managed a US$70mn portfolio of marine, trade credit, political risk insurance, surety, environmental impairment insurance and aerospace.

He also worked at AIU Hong Kong as the trade credit and political risk manager and the division head of Japanese business units for six years.
