Citi’s Yusuf Khan has relocated to Johannesburg, where he has taken up the position as head of structured trade finance for Sub-Saharan Africa.

Khan joined Citi in 2000. Since then he has completed short assignments with Citi in Australia, Hong Kong and Poland, before being joining the export and agency finance team in London in August 2002.

Before moving to South Africa, Khan worked as team head for Middle East, North Africa, Turkey, Romania and Pakistan, with responsibility for originating and structuring ECA supported financings for that region.

Commenting on his move, Khan says: “Given the infrastructure financing requirements coupled with a desire for rapid development, Africa remains a key market for commercial lenders, ECAs and DFIs, thereby presenting unique opportunities in the structured trade finance space.”
