Sanjiv Vohra has been named co-head of corporate banking for Asia and Oceania at BTMU.

He will join the bank in September and will be based in Singapore. He will report to Takayoshi Futae, regional CEO, and Randall Chafetz, head of global corporate banking, in Tokyo.

Vohra will jointly head the team with incumbent Yoshitake Manabe. He joins from Deutsche Bank, where he was most recently head of corporate banking for Asia Pacific. Before this, he held roles with Citi and ABN Amro.

Futae says: “Asia continues to draw much interest from many global corporates, a number of which have set up strategic operations in this region. With our extensive presence here in Asia and Oceania, we are well-positioned to serve our global clients with our regional knowledge and expertise.

“We are a long-term oriented bank and have long-term commitment to this region. It is therefore an opportune time to welcome Sanjiv on board. His experience in Asia Pacific will help accelerate the growth of our global corporate banking business as well as expand the value provided by the bank’s regional franchise to our clients here.”
