Bolero has hired former Barclays trade director Maria Malinowska as director, financial institutions.

Malinowska will head the trade finance software solutions provider’s banking relationships in the UK and Nordic countries. Using a sector-led approach to growing the company, she will work with bank clients to raise the profile of trade finance technology.

“I’m looking forward to using my supply chain experience and banking connections to further the straight-through processing agenda with major trade banks and major trade users,” she says.

“Bolero is currently going through an exciting phase in its evolution and its electronic multi-party solution is ideally suited to the industry’s continued drive towards paperless digitised trade finance.”

Malinowska joins following a six-year career at Barclays where she became director of trade and working capital director. Her responsibilities included product management and supply chain finance (SCF) sales leadership, and she led the first UK SCF project for Barclays in the UK, Asia and Europe. Previously, her career included trade, export and project finance-related roles at various firms including Crédit Agricole, IBM and CIBC World Market.

“With her extensive industry experience, Maria is extremely well-placed to add value to our banking partnerships, working collaboratively with them to support more corporate clients on Bolero,” says Bolero’s global head of financial institutions and partners management, Carlo d’Amore, with whom Malinowska will work closely.
