BNY Mellon has appointed four people to its Emea treasury services (TS) team.

Jonathan Roy joins BNY Mellon from Citi, after holding various roles in fund management and corporate trust and agency at Fidelity, Bankers Trust and Deutsche Bank over the past 30 years. Reporting to Colin Robertson, regional treasury services sales manager, Roy is responsible for establishing and maintaining client relationships with funds and asset managers.

Also reporting to Robertson, Dhiru Tanna is responsible for broker-dealers and exchanges. He previously worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch for nine years, including two years as head of Emea product management.

BNY Mellon’s former credit underwriting manager for the Emea region, Paul Rogers, has taken up a new role within the regional relationship management team for the developed markets, headed by Daniel Verbruggen. Rogers now handles client relationships throughout the UK, Nordic region and Southern Africa. He began his banking career in 1989 and has worked for a number of financial institutions including HSBC, Bankers Trust and Deutsche Bank.

Birgit Rug also takes on a new role as treasury services relationship officer, covering financial institutions in Switzerland and Germany and reporting to Verbruggen. She previously worked at BNY Mellon’s depository receipts division in Frankfurt, as a relationship manager for clients in the German-speaking markets.

Dominic Broom, Emea head of sales and relationship management, treasury services at BNY Mellon, says: “Our new colleagues bring with them extensive industry knowledge from their specialised areas, and I have no doubt they will play a key role in developing our existing franchise, whilst remaining resolutely client-focused. In recent years we have considerably increased our business in Emea, and in an ever-changing market we need to ensure we nurture current client relationships and provide a smooth transition for new ones.”
