Barclays Ireland has appointed HSBC’s Aoife Wallace as its new head of trade and working capital.

Wallace will be responsible for the strategic development and delivery of trade finance initiatives across Barclays’ customer base in Ireland with a focus on sales and client management.

She joins Barclays following seven years with HSBC Ireland, where she was most recently head of global trade and receivables finance.

Prior to HSBC, Wallace spent three years with Crédit Agricole in France as international trade finance specialist.

Commenting on the appointment, Brian Delahunty, head of product and business development at Barclays Ireland, says: “Aoife’s strong expertise and innovative approach will allow us to further develop our offering and continue helping our clients maximise their international and domestic trading potential.”

Wallace comments: “I am delighted to have taken up the position at an exciting time of growth for Barclays in Ireland. I look forward to deepening relationships with our existing corporate clients and new customers trading globally, by working closely with them to mitigate the potential risks of international trade and optimise their working capital.”
