Barclays Corporate continues to grow its trade and working capital team with the appointments of Ray Zabarte and Adrian Ow.

Zabarte will assume the position of global head of trade and working capital product management.

He will be responsible for product development and management activities while developing market leading product capabilities.

Zabarte joins the bank from Standard Chartered where he was most recently global head of receivables and local corporate product management.

He also held roles at the bank covering trade product development, documentary trade and supply chain finance, as well as payments and collections in the cash management business.

Meanwhile, Adrian Ow will take up the newly-created role of head of risk weighted asset (RWA) optimisation, trade and working capital.

Based in Singapore, he will lead a team to optimise RWA, assessing the impacts of new business initiatives and co-ordinating data collection and regulatory approval efforts of new trade and working capital products.

Ow was previously at Standard Chartered where he was responsible for the global transaction banking capital management strategy.

Before that, he was with Accenture financial services and led the business transformation of banks in Asia to be Basel II compliant.

Commenting on the new appointments, Tan Kah Chye, head of trade and working capital at Barclays Corporate says: “Growing our trade and working capital capabilities is key to our long-term corporate banking strategy and the knowledge and experience that both Ray and Adrian bring with them will ensure our clients continue to get the right product solutions to suit their business needs.”
