Barclays has boosted its transaction banking leadership team with a newly-created role of corporate banking head of payments and cash management.

Former BNY Mellon executive Karen Braithwaite has been appointed to the position.

Braithwaite joined BNY Mellon in 1997, and most recently served as the bank’s global head of product management for treasury services, following a range of senior roles across sales, marketing, servicing, operations, product and client management.

The new position has been established to lead the expansion of Barclays’ corporate banking business across payments, transactional FX and liquidity. Based in London, Braithwaite will have responsibility for product specialist origination, implementation and management.

Dan Roberts, Barclays’ head of transaction banking, says: “We are continuing to strengthen talent in the business which, alongside our continuing significant investment in our digital capabilities and our European platform, will help our transaction banking franchise deliver improved services to our clients in the UK and globally.”
