Calyon Americas, the New York-based corporate and investment banking arm of the Crédit Agricole Group, has appointed André Gazal as managing director and head of export finance for North America. Gazal previously headed structured trade and export finance for the Americas at Barclays Capital.

“André represents a valuable, highly experienced addition to our export finance activities in the Americas, and he will help us to even better serve our global customers,” says Olivier Audemard, managing director and head of specialised industries for Calyon in New York. “He has worked extensively in structuring trade and export finance solutions across several industries, including transportation, aircraft, defense, telecom, and energy. In addition, André has a proven track record in Eximbank financing, having been instrumental in Barclays reaching the top of the Exim league tables. We are delighted to welcome him to our team.”

Gazal had been associated with Barclays for 14 years, the last eight as head of its structured trade and export finance activities in New York. He previously was in Corporate Banking with Bank of Montreal from 1985 to 1991, and before that was marketing representative with Caterpillar Overseas, based in Switzerland and Cote d’Ivoire.
