Richard Tull has joined Bank ABC’s New York branch as vice president and head of trade finance.

Tull has more than 30 years of trade finance experience in Europe and the Americas. He joins from HSBC’s New York branch, where he spent over 10 years managing the bank’s trade finance relationships with financial institutions.

In this new role, Tull will have overall responsibility for managing Bank ABC’s trade finance business with corporate clients in the US and Canada while developing complementary lines of business with financial institutions in the region.

He tells GTR that his priorities are: “to build on Bank ABC’s existing Mena-related trade business and lead the group into new markets in Latin America that will allow us to expand the value that we can offer to our clients”.

Tull will report to Tony Berbari, general manager of Bank ABC’s New York branch. “We are excited to welcome Richard to lead our expanded trade finance group. Richard’s leadership and experience will focus our dynamic front office team on providing a highly efficient and customised service to our growing client base in the Americas,” says Berbari.

Tull will also be working closely with Geoff Sharp, his former colleague from HSBC, who joined Bank ABC in London in August.

The Bank ABC trade finance team in New York has more than doubled in size in the last year and now comprises 12 professionals.
