The Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has appointed John Bugeja as director in its international banking services (IBS) division.

Joining from Barclays and having spent the early part of his career with HSBC, Bugeja is a trade specialist with a strong reputation in the international arena.

Having also worked for NatWest and then RBS from 1994 to 2003, he has returned to the bank to help drive forward the RBS international offering.

Initially Bugeja will be focusing on three areas: deal origination, trade finance and RBS’s proposition in relation to supply chain finance.

His know-how will be of great value to the IBS team, a dedicated team of international advisers whose sole objective is to help UK customers trade successfully worldwide, claims the bank.
