Trade credit insurer Atradius has named Gordon Cessford as its new regional director of North America.

He succeeds David Huey, who held the position for the past five years, and who will maintain his role as president of Atradius until the end of 2019, when he will retire.

Cessford most recently served as Atradius’ commercial director in Hong Kong, overseeing operations in the Asia Pacific region. He started in that position in January this year.

He has spent over two decades in the credit insurance industry, where he has worked in a variety of positions, including Asia Pacific commercial director at Euler Hermes and chief commercial officer at Coface Asia Pacific.

As North America regional director, Cessford will continue developing growth and retention initiatives for the region, while overseeing business activities throughout the US, Canada and Mexico. He will also focus on developing local markets, strengthening customer, broker and staff relationships and achieving the organisation’s commercial goals.
